Earlier this year, Mrs. Sander gave her sixth grade students the opportunity to participate in the 811 Poster Contest. Students were already familiar with 811 through the safety program introduced at the beginning of sixth grade.
With more than 1,000 entries submitted nationwide, several students from our school entered the contest — and we are thrilled to announce that our very own Caroline Hilmes was named the Grand Prize Winner!
As the winner, Caroline will receive a technology package, and her poster will become the official property of the Department of Transportation. We could not be more proud of this hardworking and talented young lady.

Today, our school community gathered to dedicate a very special spot—Lala’s bench. 💜

We wanted a permanent place on campus to honor her memory and the light she brought to our halls. A huge thank you to every person who donated to make this memorial possible. It’s more than just a place to sit; it’s a place to remember a friend who will always be part of our D12 family.

What a week! Our hearts are overflowing (and our waistlines are definitely expanding) after an incredible Teacher Appreciation Week.
We want to send a massive THANK YOU to our amazing D12 Booster Club! You planned a week filled with so much love, thoughtfulness, and of course, delicious treats. From the morning pick-me-ups to the afternoon surprises, you made every member of our staff feel like a superstar.
A huge shoutout also goes to the numerous local businesses who stepped up to help. Your generosity provided the extra "wow" factor that made this week so special. We are so lucky to work in a community that values education and the people who provide it.
And to our D12 families: thank you for the countless gifts, handwritten notes, and sweet treats. Seeing the smiles on our students' faces is why we do what we do, but feeling your support keeps us inspired every single day.
We’re heading into the homestretch of the school year with full hearts, happy memories, and maybe a need for some stretchier pants. We love our D12 family! 💜

A little late posting, but THANK YOU to all the students who donated $1 during the NCAA Basketball Tournament for Coping 4 Life!🏀 Because of your generosity, we were able to donate $110! It may seem like "just a dollar," but together it added up to make a difference in our community. Proud of our students for having fun with the brackets while also giving back to others!
