6th graders learned how archaeologists do their jobs by digging into a chocolate chip cookie and excavating the chocolate chips. It was a delicious time digging for the yummy artifacts.

We are lucky to have such wonderful staff & students! 💜 Our Gaga pit was out of commission the first few days of school. We aren't sure what happened, but the entire thing was shifted which in turn messed up the rubber matting on the inside. We had a group of 8th graders work together to lift up the (very heavy) Gaga pit while others hopped inside and fixed the rubbers mats! Good news- the Gaga pit is back in action!! We also have a group students who play soccer at each of our recesses without any soccer goals. Mr. Dave Ratermann made them goals over the weekend, and they were pumped to use them today! A big thank you to each one of them for making Breese Elementary a better place!

Today, D 12 concluded their summer camp, which saw approximately 100 students participate in at least one of the six Tuesday sessions offered in the morning or afternoon. Each week, students were transported in classes decorated in a variety of themes, including farm, camping, space, zoo, racing, and pirate. The walls were decorated to match the theme, and all games were designed to align with the theme as well. Students practiced educational skills, built STEM projects, and worked cooperatively in groups. Most importantly, they had fun. This year, we were fortunate to receive the Clinton County Farm Bureau grant, which enabled us to host a farming day. Additionally, Carlyle Park Rangers provided instruction on fire safety, and World Wide Technology Center brought a race car to the camp.
