Making our own "snow day" in middle school science. 6th grade made snow globes while learning how paint bonds to water, water and oil don't mix, and how sodium bicarbonate activates the swirling motion without any shaking/stirring. 5th grade made snow and then wrote out their material lists, procedures, and observations following the lab. We decided our snow smelled amazing and didn't freeze our hands like real snow.

Due to the forecast of sleet and freezing rain in our region tomorrow, we have made the decision to cancel in-person school for tomorrow, Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Tomorrow will be taken as an E-Learning Day for District 12. This decision will ensure that our students, staff, and families will not be forced into potentially unsafe conditions on the roads. E-Learning expectations have been reviewed by teachers and they will also be available via email tomorrow if there are any questions about your assignments. Please stay safe and remember, it’s always a great day to be a Bobcat!

Congratulations to our first round of Bobcats of the Week! This month we began working on Character Ed at Beckemeyer and our word this month is "compassion." All of the students pictured displayed compassion last week and will be entered into our Bobcat of the Month drawing. It's awesome to have so many students who have such high character. Congratulations!

Today was our first official PAWS Day! Our focus word for January was respect, and these students were selected for the January PAWS Award for consistently demonstrating respect. Their actions help make Breese Elementary a better place for everyone. Way to go, Bobcats! 🐾💜🐾
