These do need to be picked up in Mt. Vernon, but maybe you know a parent, relative, friend, etc. that works in the Mt. Vernon area that could pick them up weekly!

5th grade science is busy studying all things life science. This day was spent discussing how honey bees help polinate, what their specialized body parts do, labeling doodle notes and using microscopes to view tiny bee parts like the legs (the kids say they are very hairy) and wings. Most shocking part of this lesson: How the honey bees mouth parts look. 😲 🐝

A huge thank you to the Clinton County Farm Bureau Foundation for sponsoring Mrs. Sander's project grant! The 6th graders were able to visit Rolling Lawns Farm and The Milk House. We got an inside look at the life of dairy cows and a better understanding of the work that they and the farmers do to provide us with quality dairy products. The tours ended with delicious ice cream and many samples of their flavored milk including rootbeer, chocolate, strawberry, orange, and cappuccino. Student favorites include the cookie monster ice cream and petting lucky the calf.

Good luck to our Bobcat runners headed to the State Track Meet today! Jump high, run fast, and have fun! 🏃♀️ 🏆 🐾 🤩
**Also- wear your sunscreen! ☀️😜

Thank you to Dairy King for their generous donation to purchase more sensory items for classrooms!

Yesterday, these kindergarten friends were very happy to finally have a day without cold, rain or wind. They enjoyed a picnic lunch to celebrate reading 40 books!
