6th grade has been studying five different empires from Ancient Mesopotamia and assembling timelines of each. Students then compared them and found the seven characteristics of all empires.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) had an AWESOME turnout for their second meeting today! Madi, Hayleigh, Cooper, and Wyatt led the discussion on using our words to build each up other instead of tearing others down. Students left the meeting challenged to “be the spark” and spread God’s word as well as continue to build a positive culture at D12!

We are super excited to announce that Breese Elementary School has once again earned 2023 Exemplary Status from the Illinois State Board of Education by continuing our top 10% ranking among all elementary schools in the State of Illinois. Additionally, we are so thankful for the efforts of the staff and students at Beckemeyer Elementary School as they continue to build a strong foundation prior to our students encountering official state testing in 3rd grade. Beckemeyer has been recognized as a Commendable School based on the metrics that are utilized to rank schools with 1st Grade being the highest grade level within the physical school building. Our 2023 ISBE recognition continues to highlight why Breese ESD #12 is one of the best elementary districts in the region and we are so thankful for the partnership that has been built and fostered between our students, staff, and families! The positive culture and high academic standards that exist in our schools make every day a “great day to be a bobcat!”
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Congratulations to Mrs. Maria Penn who was named IPA Kaskaskia Region Elementary Teacher of the Year! Her love for her students, District 12 and the passion she has to help everyone succeed makes her so deserving of this award!💜🐾#ItsAGreatDayToBeABobcat
