As part of a drawing competition for the Centralia Sentinel, Maggie Diekemper chose to draw Cedarhurst for her entry. Cedarhurst saw the entry and loved it so much they plan to purchase the drawing from the Sentinel and Amy Therrian of Cedarhurst made a Ski delivery to Maggie's class to thank her! Great job, Maggie, and thank you Amy & Cedarhurst for the drinks! #itsagreatdaytobeabobcat

It was a cold night, but an excellent night for a parade!

The District 12 Marching Bobcats entertained the streets of Breese during the annual Breese Lights Parade on Saturday evening. It was a beautiful night filled with lights, music and fun. This was Mrs Schrand's last parade as she is retiring at the end of this school year! 🎶

You never know how you impact the lives of the people you come in contact with, so always lead with a smile and a positive thought. It will come back to you tenfold! All the kind notes from my crew here at District 12. Thank you all and Happy Thanksgiving! Love, Ms. Linda

Yummy! The third grade followed a recipe to make a NO bake pumpkin pie. They enjoyed measuring & eating their creation.

Do you know what parts of your Thanksgiving feast will sink or float??? These 5th graders sure do! We wrote a hypothesis and did a test on 5 popular components of Thanksgiving dinner. Lots of fun, a few surprises, and no pie was harmed in our science lab! 😉 🥧🦃 🌽

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from our Kindergarten crew! We made headbands, necklaces, played games, and had a Thanksgiving snack.🦃💜

Mrs. Schatz's 2nd graders were the Mum Fundraiser winners! They enjoyed their DK drinks! Thank you Sports Boosters and thank you DK!❤️🫶🏻

Due to a returning bus stop, the morning RED route will be 3-5 minutes later from now on. This will only affect those getting on the bus @ 6:48 am (Cybertel Rd) and beyond. This will begin on Monday, November 20th. Thank you!

🇺🇸 Veterans Day 2023! 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 Thank you Veterans! 🇺🇸

🇺🇸Thank you to the Veterans who were in attendance yesterday. It was a wonderful celebration! 🇺🇸

This patriotic 4th grade wants to say Thank You to all of our Veterans!

6th grade has been studying five different empires from Ancient Mesopotamia and assembling timelines of each. Students then compared them and found the seven characteristics of all empires.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) had an AWESOME turnout for their second meeting today! Madi, Hayleigh, Cooper, and Wyatt led the discussion on using our words to build each up other instead of tearing others down. Students left the meeting challenged to “be the spark” and spread God’s word as well as continue to build a positive culture at D12!

We are super excited to announce that Breese Elementary School has once again earned 2023 Exemplary Status from the Illinois State Board of Education by continuing our top 10% ranking among all elementary schools in the State of Illinois. Additionally, we are so thankful for the efforts of the staff and students at Beckemeyer Elementary School as they continue to build a strong foundation prior to our students encountering official state testing in 3rd grade. Beckemeyer has been recognized as a Commendable School based on the metrics that are utilized to rank schools with 1st Grade being the highest grade level within the physical school building. Our 2023 ISBE recognition continues to highlight why Breese ESD #12 is one of the best elementary districts in the region and we are so thankful for the partnership that has been built and fostered between our students, staff, and families! The positive culture and high academic standards that exist in our schools make every day a “great day to be a bobcat!”
Have a great weekend, everyone!
