Grandparents Day 2023

Our District 12 library will be hosting a book sale during Parent-Teacher conferences October 23 and 26, 2023. We are clearing out some of our older books to create room for the new. We have classics, vintage and multiple copies for book clubs. For those who have a crafty side, you can purchase books to create original book page crafts and wall art! (see photos for ideas) Prices range from $.25-$1.00. We will have a table set up at both schools and a money jar for payments and donations. I hope you can help us free up some space and have a good read at the same time!
Linda Forhan, District 12 Librarian

Busy two weeks in 7th & 8th RTI! Some groups were researching candy corn, building the tallest candy corn cob, and inferring which liquid dissolved candy corn the fastest. Other groups were constructing notecard towers at least 24 in. tall and can hold weight while only using 100 index cards and 12 in. of tape. The last group was challenged to design a basket that could hold as much weight as possible. The only materials were construction paper and glue. Fun and challenging times in RTI! #STEM #STEAM

Regional Champs! Congratulations to our Girl's XC team on winning the Class L Wesclin Regional earlier today. A total team effort at the the meet today sends our girls to the State Meet next weekend in DuQoin!
On the boy's side, congratulations to Michael Hogg on qualifying as an individual to run next weekend at the State Meet.

In Mrs. Sander's science class, 5th grade conducted a lab involving water absorption in different types of soil. Our scientists made predictions, observations, and filled in lab reports comparing the amounts of water absorbed by local dirt vs. store bought topsoil
